Huck

We have some of the cutest little babies in our family! Fortunately, because I think mine & Bryan's days of bearing children are most definitely behind us (unless
God feels differently)....although because of this boy, Huck Meadors, Bryan uttered words that I NEVER thought I would hear him say: "another baby!"...not only did he mention this idea once, but he has said it twice!!
Anyway, Huck came over and had dinner with us Friday night. Oh, and he brought his parents. Carla (Bryan's cousin) and Damon are the proud parents of Huck.

Cameron "Huck" Meadors made his way into this world on February 1st of this year. We LOVE this little guy! When Damon & Carla found out they were having a boy, (and probably even before) I started begging her to name him "Huck." At first she didn't like it. At first she laughed at me. I told her I was serious & if we ever had another little boy, I would beg Bryan to let us name him Huck. I don't think any other name would fit this boy!
He bumped his little head this week, and got his first official boo-boo. I had to snap a couple of pictures of him fast, because he liked the camera. He would laugh AFTER I took the picture, because he likes the flash. :) Doesn't he just put a smile on your face?

Who's Got That Beat?! That Tiger Beat!!

Besides always rooting for the Razorbacks (we love the excitement of football season, but truly the baseball Hogs have our hearts), we also must cheer for our Tigers! Laney has taken that literally, and become a pee wee cheerleader. I feared our "girly" girl wasn't going to do it, but my sweet friend Shonda (who I cheered with in High School) is the pee wee cheer sponsor, so that sealed the deal & Laney was all in! We have had two games thus far, and as everyone knows I am terrible at taking pictures, much less even remembering the camera! Here's our little cheerleader in action. I am thinking she has potential, and could be wearing Razorback red someday!

Yee Haw!

Laney and Zeke both square danced this year. This was Laney's first year, and Zeke's second. They loved every minute of it! This past Labor Day weekend they performed at the Clothes Line Fair. One of their favorite things about square dancing is their partners & friends that they get to dance with. Last year, Zeke's little partner broke her foot a few weeks before the performance. Bless her heart! It worked out okay though. There was another sweet little blonde girl to step in. Thanks Rowyn! Ella Grace was back this year though & Zeke was glad to have her!
Laney's partner was her friend Ory. She was hopeful & anxious to see who her partner would end up being. The dresses were so cute this year & Laney and the other girls got tons of compliments on them.

We are looking forward to next year!

I'm Sorry!! I'm Sorry!! I'm Sorry!

I know it has been forever since I posted, and really busyness is all I ever have for an excuse....and I know it is lame. I'm sorry, and I really am going to try to do better. No, I take that back because every time I say that, I never do, but anyway....

So, some of the things that have been keeping me busy were/are prom, Easter (Yay Jesus!), graduation stuff (Yay Katie), tball, the world of mortgage lending, church, family, birthday's, laundry, dishes & tiny bit of re-decorating, among other things(see I really wasn't exaggerating)!

And let me just say, I love Razorback baseball! My sweet brother in law has come through big time with tickets to several games. I love when the kiddos get to go with us, but I enjoy it when it is just me & Bryan too! Those Hawgs are having a fantastic season too!

Zeke (future college baseball player) is busy with t-ball practice these days. He surprises me with how organized and prepared he is when it comes to ball. This is his second & last year of tball, but he takes it very seriously. I had to take him to practice this week (usually Bryan does it, so I can have a few precious minutes to myself) and he had his bat bag ready, with his little cleats out the night before. When we got to the field, he sat down, changed into his cleats, got his batting helmet, glove, and bat out & was ready to go.....it was all game on from there!

Laney has had benchmarks this week, and has felt a bit of pressure at times. Thankfully, today was her last day. I do want tolet it be known that we (her parents) do not put crazy expectations on her to do as well as she does when it comes to her grades, but this chick is smart!!

Katie is feeling the excitement & anxiousness of a Senior graduating in little over a month!! Did I mention she will be 18 on Sunday...this Sunday! WHEW!! CrAzY!!

As I sit here and skim over this post, I realize how good God is to us...He really is the best, isn't He? I've got so much to praise Him for!! THANK YOU JESUS!!
Here is a picture of Katie before prom. I did her hair & she liked it even better than the $60 hairdo I paid for last year. Ha! ...our camera is terribly old, but I am hoping for a new one for my birthday. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Our ALMOST 18 year old!
And a couple of Easter pics....I don't know if you can see the little pocket hanky, but he insisted on one of those for his suit. Our Pastor wears these all the time, and Zeke wanted to look like Brother Byrd.

Dear John

So last night I went with two very special ladies to see the movie, Dear John. Have you seen it yet? I ask because I picked up our tickets earlier in the day, and when we got there, it was packed. I was surprised for a second, and thought I had walked into one of the Twilight movies! But then I remembered oh yeah, Channing Tatum......One of my favorite things in the world to do is read. I love it. I read all kinds of books. Nicholas Sparks is not usually the first author that I reach for, but he is pretty good. Anyway, I read the book (Dear John) this week. After I read the book, my sweet friend Brook (who went to the movie with me), asked me what I thought. I was not happy with Savannah. I mean really who cannot wait stinking nine months for your one true love. She waited years for him, and then married Tim (his character was a little different in the movie)!!! REALLY!!
I just want to say I liked the book. I liked the movie. They are different, as they usually are, but you should really read the book if you see the movie. Okay?

Out with the old & IN with the NEW

I love a new year! I like the feeling it gives me...I have the entire year to look forward too, plus reflect back on what God has allowed me to accomplish. 2009 will forever leave with me this lesson: I am stronger than I ever thought I was!
I don't say that lightly...believe me!! All in all it was a fantastic year. The last couple of months have not been easy, but in all of the whole experience of taking care of my momma, {realizing the state she was in physically, emotionally, spiritually....every aspect of life} I have come to find what I have always known to be true....and I cherish this fact even more than I ever have....My life is in HIS hands. Plain and simple! It is this fact that has me excited as I look foward to 2010 too! I cannot wait to experience all of it!!
Check out this little treasure:

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an enternal glory that far outweighs them all. 2 Corinthians 4:17

Makes me want to shout! I am so glad HE is writing my life's story....and I am looking forward to chapter 2010 with great expectancy & I hope you are too!

December Madness

Seriously, I know I always say this, but I have not been on the computer at home for weeks...I promise!! Let me tell you some of the craziness that has been going on this month! My mom has had surgery & is going to have one more on Tuesday the 29th of this month. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new baby cousin. His name will be Cameron "Huck" Meadors, and we have had baby shower after baby shower to attend!! Bryan and I took our sweet children to look at the lights on the square, and no sooner did we get there and I got the phone call that one of my co-workers/friends had passed away...totally let the wind out of my sail. Needless to say the lights were hard to enjoy. There have been many other things going on in our families and lives that Bryan and I cannot even think straight, and then pile Christmas on top of that. If anything we have really taken comfort in the fact that Jesus is the Reason for the Season, and literally clung to that fact pretty much all month!! Lots of good things have happened, it is just that it is already the end of the month, and I cannot even begin to describe my feelings....overwhelmed, grateful, drained, happy, sad, torn, worn, JUMBLED!!

Here are Laney & Katie on the square...

Zeke & Laney feeling the love!
